I realize that some of my pictures did not come through from my previous page so here are some more pictures....The black horse I had and just added some Christmas decorations around the neck with a festive blanket! The little house I bought at a garage sale, painted and added some trim found at Goodwill!
This year I was on a tight budget so I decided to check out my local Goodwill store and voila! I found some real treasures there and a real good price (CHEAP)! Let me show you some of my fabulous finds...
The Roseville green pot was $8.00 and the greenery was only 59 cents, I filled the pot with my Christmas greenery with tiny ginger bread men.
My white $16.00 tree not bought from Goodwill but at a local store was decorated by ornaments and white icicles I already had! A garage sale white planter holds the base with a Christmas garland surrounding the planter was 50 cents at another sale!
The green Christmas wreaths from Goodwill were 50 cents each, I just decorated with wooden smalls I had from some old window garland, now to get some plaid Christmas ribbon to hang from the windows (next year plan). The ball jar was only 50 cents, I changed the bulb inside and put a small grapevine wreath to hang from the ribbon surrounded by a Christmas wreath I already had!
The small Christmas tree was only $1.00 from Goodwill also, it had some ugly garland and broken lights on it, which took me 2 hours to dismantle, to turn the tree into a simple tree adorned by wooden stockings and the white wreath was also a garage sale find for only $1.00.
The two small Christmas trees, I had just covered in small lights and stuck in a primitive wooden box. Inside the box I put old spools of yarn and twine to give it a more primitive look! There you have it,my simple Christmas this year. I hope I gave you some ideas for next year... I will try to keep my blog updated for the New Year!

I could not believe my lucky day when I found this wicker table at the curbside! It was dirty and had some ugly paper attached to the bottom shelf but after some elbow grease and sanding, I was able to paint and it turned out pretty good. It was in really good shape, some of the wicker was missing around the legs and trim but the tabletop and shelf below were solid so I was happy with the results! If you saw this in a antique store it would cost around $75.00 easy!

Went to the annual Unionville Flea Market this Saturday with my friend Pat, it was much nicer this year than the past 2 years, the weather was great and there was much more vendors! Here are some primitive treasures I found there!

Olde farm sale

My first sale on a farm this weekend and I just loved it! There is something to being out in the country surrounded by the old chippy white buildings listening to the roosters, laughing with good friends.. priceless! I did not care if I did not make a lot of money, I was just happy to be able to get the experience of being there!
Now I truly believe the saying, "one man's trash is another man's treasure"! I found this old dresser on the side of the curb on my way home from work one day last week! I could not believe it! Nothing was wrong with it! The drawers were all in good condition..I just replaced the drawer handles to a more country look! I just love it!

I found this rusty old filing cabinet at
an estate sale, it had some good bones, no dents and the rust was just surface rust. With a lot of elbow grease and time, I was able to sand, wash, and paint the cabinet within a few hours and now I love it! It can be used for many purposes...bathroom storage, kitchen to hide all those utensils or just for a sunporch to put all your garden accessories! Of course, if I had my way, it would be on a enclosed porch or garden filled with different herbs and flowers! How cool!

I lost my best friend on 2/18/2012

I do not know why things happen to us but there has to be a reason. Two days before Christmas this straggly long haired dirty white dog came to my friend (Barb) and I looking for help! Immediately, we fed her and gave her a nice warm home. Within the next few days, we had her groomed and began a long two month battle to make her better! She had some medical issues, we were determined to beat. We walked her, fed her, bought her lots of goodies and some things she needed (diapers, which she hated to put on, but wouldn't you)? All through the vet visits, walks, diaper changes, baths and trips in the car, she never whimpered, moaned or tried to fight back! She was a sweetheart and let us just take care of her. She listened and always tried to go outside to the bathroom (even though she had a few accidents)she did her best! We loved her anyway! Sometimes, she would get picky about her diet and putting on the diaper, she was just a loving dog! The last few days were the toughest, she lost control of her back legs, we thought it was the arthritis but it turned out to be a inoperable tumor on her spine! We were devistated! Everything we tried did not work for this sweet lady! We had to put her to sleep yesterday and besides loosing my father, this has been the hardest thing I have ever done! Why? I keep asking myself and God do things happen like this? There has to be a reason! With this broken heart of mine, I wish someone would give me the answer! I love you Holly and will miss you deeply! (The picture is of one of the walks she went on with the other dogs in the neighborhood and their new sweaters (Holly is the white dog)). I am glad you came into my life, dear friend, but I wish it could of been longer. Even though it hurts, I know you are in a better place.

Cabinets 2012

Moving to a smaller place, need to sell to cabinets I have no use for. Check out my ad on Craig's List for dimension. The smaller green cabinet is made out of 2 crates with 4 drawers (old) and 4 shelves! I use it in the bathroom but can be used really anywhere! It is very heavy and good shape! I am asking $55.00. Also, I have this country cabinet that is great for small places or narrow areas, like hallways or bathrooms, it has a light mustard color with shelves on top and bottom. The back is made from bead back board, including dental molding and plate grooves on top two shelves for display. Text me at 440 813 0527 if interested.

More pumpkin makeovers

Again ...thinking....I seem to do a lot of that lately, I have these orange pumpkins that seem to have lost their charm! What can I do to change that? Decoupaging would be kind of tough unless I cut material into strips and glue one at a time around the pumpkins. I do not know if I have the patience or talent to be that creative so the next best thing..PAINT THEM! I can do that! Voila! They look pretty good, now I might stencil around them in contrasting colors but I have to see what I can come up with. If I decide to do that, I will be posting more pictures..I have to do some more thinking about that....

Pumpkins redo

Now that winter is here and the garage sales have ended for the season, I like to keep busy doing projects. I was looking through my country magazines and found in the Country Living Magazine an article on decoupaging pumpkins! I thought what a neat idea so I went and bought my Mod Podge and began...well, it is not as easy as it looks! I got this pumpkin pillow on a whim and just hated it! I tried selling it, I tried giving it away but nobody would bite so I thought what could I do with it??? I played around with ideas for a couple of days but because of its shape it would be hard to decoupage it so I decided to paint it a black color and decoupage black checked pumpkins on it (the pumpkins covered up the marks from where I tore the felt eyes and mouth off)it sure was a big improvement! So see if there is something you wish you would not have ever bought, think about what you can do to change it!
